Tasar sericulture involves a series of interdependent activities within a complex value chain. TDF’s intent is to develop each node of the value chain to become viable generating large scale livelihood of poor communities. The objectives of TDF are:

1. Expand livelihood intensity particularly for primary producers by innovation, adaptation and creating value chain synergies
2. Build and retain competent human resources within the sector instilling new technologies, raise standards and open new frontiers of growth
3. Strengthen critical factors of production, such as production and supply of high quality seeds
4. Build and strengthen institutions of producers to organize production systems, facilitate attainment of scale of economy in production clusters, attract capital and services of markets in the remote rural areas
5. Broad base and align stakeholders to foster growth in the sector
